Eligibility: Open to all artists residing in the United States. Works must be no larger than 24” inches in their longest dimension (including frame). styles and media are welcome.

Awards: 1st place $250, 2nd place $100, 3rd place $50.

Application Requirements

All visual “2-D” and “3-D” art media is acceptable, with the exception of film or video. All work that can be physically hung or displayed on the walls, gallery floor, or pedestal is acceptable, including but not limited to painting, drawing, photography, prints, fibers, sculpture, relief sculpture, collage, etc.

When shipped/delivered to the exhibition, the artwork must be finished, dry and ready for hanging or display. Canvases must be framed or museum/gallery wrapped with finished edges. Works on paper and smearable mediums, such as charcoal and pastels, must be protected under glass or plexiglass. All wall art must be wired for hanging. (No sawtooth hangers will be accepted).

If a work is framed, please, make sure that the frame is shown in your submission image for the piece, or send an additional image showing the frame you intend to display the work in.

ELIGIBILITY

  • This exhibition is open to artists of all ages currently residing in the United States.

  • Work must have been created in the last five years, and must be the original artwork, ready to display.

  • Artwork must be your own work.

  • No prints or reproductions of original works will be accepted unless the original work itself is a print or digital work. (Please note this in the media tag, if applicable).

  • Accepted artwork must be the actual artwork as seen in the submitted images. No substitutions are allowable unless first approved by the gallery in writing.

  • Gallery 906 reserves the right to remove from the exhibition any artwork that differs from the images in the accepted submission.

  • Accepted artwork listed for sale must be for the price listed in the submission.

  • JPEG or JPG format only

  • Files should be between 1000 and 2500 pixels on the longest side, file sizes should be under 5 MB.

  • Friends and family of Jury members may not submit work to this exhibition. Additionally, artists whose work was selected for showing in the previous exhibition (North Carolina Artists Exhibition), are ineligible to apply. Past applicants whose work was not selected for the previous exhibition may still apply.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Use the forms at the bottom of the page to submit your work.

Artists may submit up to 10 works of art for consideration and may optionally include up to 3 images of each work of art for 3-dimensional or sculptural work.

Include information for each piece in the following format:

Artists Name, Title of piece, Medium, Dimensions, Year, Price (if for sale).

After submitting your information and images, please pay the entry fee of $35 using the second form listed below. Unpaid submissions will not be considered.

You may submit up to 10 images. If you prefer to submit fewer than 10 images, simply leave the forms for any additional images empty. After entering your information and uploading your images, scroll to the bottom of the form and hit “Submit”.

The entry fee goes toward the cost of the exhibition, including but not limited to labor for hanging the exhibition, costs associated with hosting the reception, marketing materials, advertising, etc.

TERMS

Gallery 906 reserves the right to reject any artwork that is not properly prepared or is deemed unsuitable for our audience. Submission of work is not a guarantee of acceptance. Accepted works may be shipped to the gallery or hand delivered. Participating artists who wish to hand deliver their work must be available to deliver their artwork between May 2 and May 9, 2025 any time from 1:00 pm and 5:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday. (If alternative arrangements are necessary, please contact the gallery). Works that arrive late may be excluded from the exhibition.

All accepted artwork must remain in the exhibition until its conclusion unless special arrangements are made in writing prior to the exhibition.

A 30% commission will be retained by Gallery 906 for any artwork sold. Please account for this when pricing your work, as the sales price listed in the application will be used. The gallery will handle all sales and prepare price tags for the event, and list exhibited works on the gallery website for sale online. Artists will receive a check for the sale price minus commission and sales tax, approximately three weeks after the event.

Unsold artwork must be picked up by artists after the exhibition ends on July 18, 2025. Artwork must be picked up within 1 week of the exhibition closing.

The entry fee of $35 covers the submission of up to 10 works of art. This fee is non-refundable.

Liability - Legal Agreement and Participant’s Waiver:

Submission of work automatically waives any claim for damage or loss against Gallery 906 and Joseph Bounds Ceramics, including the members, employees, and volunteers. The gallery will exercise reasonable care in handling all artwork but will not assume any liability for loss or damage while in the possession of the gallery. Work should be independently insured by the artist.

Usage Rights:

The artist retains all copyright interests or claims that they have in their art. By submitting images, you give Gallery 906 the right to use and reproduce the images to market and document the exhibition, and to enable the image to be available for sale online through the gallery website.

Additional Terms and Conditions:

Gallery 906 reserves the right to adjust any deadline(s) as the result of causes beyond its immediate control. The gallery reserves the right to replace or add exhibition jurors as deemed necessary by the gallery in the event that a juror resigns or is no longer able or willing to fulfill their obligations. Payment of the submission fee indicates acknowledgement of all terms and conditions.
